How it works

At Alcami we can advise you through every step of your production process. If you choose injection molding for your project, there are a few stages of production that we will guide you through:

  1. An engineer designs a CAD model for the part.
  2. From the model a mold will be fabricated that can be used to accurately form your desired part. Alcami engineers can assist with the design and creation of your mold.
  3. Once a proper mold has been developed and tested for quality, manufacturing can begin for as many parts as your job requires.

Alcami engineers are available to assist in realizing any of your project ideas. We offer expert design consultation and a variety of mold fabrication options, providing you with a turnkey solution for all your production needs. A single cycle of the injection molding process for each part also has several steps:

  1. First, the mold closes. The only opening in the outside of the mold is where your heated material is injected into the mold.
  2. Next is the injection of melted plastic or other material into the mold.
  3. When the mold is filled, injection stops and the mold is given time to cool based on part thickness and material type.
  4. While the part cools, the injection mechanism reloads to prepare for the next part.
  5. Once the part is cooled, the mold opens and ejector pins push the finished part out of the mold.
